Hello,

I am trying to buy a car. I'd like to check the cars VIN out before I do anything with it.. Now on the other hand the only place I know that shows records of cars is carfax.

Is it worth the 15 bucks before I buy the car. Does anyone us carfax?

Thanks
Phil

I had access to Consumer guide report for unlimited time in this month.

If it is only a single VIN that you want to check, I can check it for you free of charge.

Just pm me pr post it. I will reply back when I got time.

That's a big NO-NO here.

It's definitely worth it if you'll be shopping around for a lot of different used cars, although if you're looking at dealerships you could ask them to provide you with a CarFax report. Many dealerships will do that.

CarFax is pretty much the only game in town with this type of information, and it's a valuable resource.

yes I am looking at a dealership.

it's for a 2001 Chevy Impala LS. It has 39000 miles on it and they are asking 14.500 which I think is a pretty good price for the vehicle.

Thanks
Phil

I used CarFax on my last vehicle purchase. It's well worth the cost for piece of mind in my opinion. Might want to check with whoever you are buying from also...sometimes they'll offer to show you the vehicle history report. Think about it...what is $15-$20 in comparison to what you are going to spend on the car. It could wind up saving you from making a big mistake.

Good luck.

get the unlimited. Its funny to look up cars on Ebay and they say. Perfect Condtition only 8,000 miles. You check carfax. Warning possible rollback of odometer, or Car was marked as unsalvaglble California.
