Disagree. Except for John C. Dvorak, it pretty much sucks.

Before the rise of the intarweb and sites like AnandTech, it was a resource. So was Computer Shopper, for that matter. But those days are gone. The lag time between what's happening and when they publish is ludicrous. Their price assumptions are meaningless to a Hot Dealer. Some of the tip articles are ok, but don't make the mag a must buy.

I was a long time subscriber back in the day. That day has come and gone.

That magazine is weak. They are pretty much n00b level. I glance at it @ the library sometimes and its very very hard to find anything in there average AT'er (or me) doesn't know

I got a free subscription and wish I never signed up. The format and the fonts make my eyes bleed.

I've got a free sub that comes to my house, and it makes for good bathroom material. I don't care much for their reviews, but they are informative to some extent.

Their podcasts are pretty good. I'm assuming that Cranky Geeks falls under their umbrellas as well. And they seem to have some affiliation with DL.tv too.

I got PC World that comes to my dorms...and the news in there isn't news any more because of how it comes one month AFTER something arrives. AT provides me with the newest of everything and more.

I rarely read it. I get it in the mail for some reason.

Print is just hard to read for me nowdays, I would prefer the text on a web p[age.

PCmag and PCworld are both horrible if you know anything about technology.

CPU Mag. is the best magazine i've read for pc's.

Great Bathroom reading material.
Now if I could only get the pages unstuck **LMAO**
Seriously though, Max PC is the best out there at the moment. There is a 1-1.5mth lag in news timing, but it's still decent.

Those of you that read this mag......... What do you think of those 1&1 ads that sometimes run 9+ pages? I've saved up all mine for the last 2 years and I'm going to tear them out and send them to MaxPc HQ soon with a little note attached to each PAGE.............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Computer related magazines are outdated by the time they hit the shelf. No point.

Agreed..

CPU (Computer Power User) - a mag which Anand himself writes for, is pretty good.. It is shorter than I would like, though

Maximum PC is also pretty good.. a little more 'n00b' than CPU, but not near the noob level that PC mag is

CPU is an excellent magazine, I think it's more at the level of the average ATer, and it features columns from some very insightful people (Anand for example)! I like how CPU actually has articles about how computer hardware works. Most PC magazines are focused on just buying stuff.

Comp Shopper is much easier on the back now .... 8 years ago I needed to brace my mailbox with cross struts to hold that monstrosity, then use a wheelbarrow to get it in the house. PC World is hopeless, but its a freebie so I can at least say I got my $$$'s worth !!

boot, PC Accelerator, CPU ... good mags in their day. I rate CPU at the top (and actually pay for it) so if you are looking for a good one, pick that up.
