I like to play around but I don't think you're going to find many hardcore simulation fans on this forum.

I have never understood the fascination with flight simulators. Hey, lets take off and cruise at a high altitude for 3 hours, then touch down in VEGAS (but not actually go to a casino). OMGS WIND SHEER! WE'RE DONE FOR!

Likewise I never understood the fascination with single player RPGs. People have their own preferences. For those of us who enjoy flying but cant afford real flight time. Flight simulators are very enjoyable.

Seriously, though, you're still on the ground looking at a display.

I love flying (never piloted an aircraft, though), but FS is just no substitute.

Unless maybe it's one of those full-blown cockpit simulators with hydraulics and 360 degree displays.

Ok?

Like I said everybody has their own preferences.

And I have flown about 60 hours in various aircraft. Sure it isnt the real thing but who cares? For a 60 dollar simulator it is good enough. Still less than 1 hour of flight time in a Tomahawk or 150.

MS Flight Simulator is actually sometimes used as a training tool for commercial pilots. I would like to play, however Ill have to try and find my discs though.

Same with any other game.

Modeps: There are missions where you have to fly in horrible conditions (ie: hurricane) to rescue people and such. That said, combat flight sims are where it's at. Falcon 4.0 AF FTW!
