Does anyone here own any AutoNation stock?

If you own any AutoNation stock, my best advice to you, would be to dump it.
I'll tell you all right now, this is not about the strength of a Fortune 500 company, but more about how it treats its employees.

I am kind of a grey sheep, but I have family who have major stock in this company. When they heard what this company has done to me, and my family, they have begun pushing information out, which will cause a major market cap reduction, by next tuesday. Now is the time to sell!

That's all I can tell you, for now.

He's just saying he doesn't like how he's being treated, that's freedom of speech.

And, because I have relatives who were heavily invested in this, once they blow their horns, this baby is going to drop.

Marked! Watch where it goes next week

Penny stock? I like the penny stock idea right now.

Edit: Apparently, I can't link to the graph. Ticker symbol is AN

Here are some notes of what happend, for the curious.

The corp, divested itself of one of it's many dealerships, nationwide.

They gave one and a half weeks notice, then dropped most of their employees.
Today, they kicked most of them to the curb, gave inadequate notice, and did not immediately pay most people, as required by Ca. law.

In Ca., if you have more than 50 employees at a location, you must give them 60 days notice, if you close shop. They did not.
In Ca., if you close shop, you must give every employee their paycheck. They did not.

Some of those employees had been working for 5 years+

The worst experiences I have ever had at any car dealership were at Autonation owned dealerships.
I hope they go out of business. Crooks, and ***** liars are the best way to describe them.

Well, looking at the technicals, they may come down regardless of them firing you and other employees without due-notice. Slightly overbought and could correct further with news coming out. It could be a good idea to short it.

Then again the company is trying to become more efficient and had to let go of some of the "non-performers" ie. compuwiz.

The company may have swallowed more than they can safely digest.

Now they have indigestion.

If your relatives are/were employees and sell their stock based on information not known to the public they are commiting insider trading, which is illegal.

So what are your relatives going to do? Dump their stock and commit a crime or ride it out when it tanks?

wouldn't that increase the financials of the company? stock price is tied to financials, not how it treats it's employees.

I don't get it...they divested (i.e. sold) ONE dealership to someone and then that someone fired everyone. So how is Autonation liable?
