Does anyone here live near the edge of a time zone?

We're pretty close to the western edge of the Eastern time zone here. Drive south an hour or so and it's Central time but never been a big deal. Perhaps for small towns that straddle a time zone, though.

What's neat, though, is in the summer it will still be a tad bit light out at 10pm while NYC will be dark.

I live about an hour east of the central time zone. I drove to Panama City Beach a while back and I couldn't figure out how my car radio clock was an hour ahead of my cell phone when it wasn't the previous day. I even turned off my cell phone and turned it back on thinking that something got screwed up. I didn't realize I had left the eastern time zone until I saw a sign on the way back that said "Now entering the eastern time zone". 😛 Confused the hell out of me. I had always assumed that all of florida was in the same time zone.

I wish my state (Alabama) were in the eastern time zone where it geographically should be. The fact that we share the same time zone as west Texas over 1,500 miles to our west is just wrong.

I live in AZ...we dont have daylight savings time...so every fall and spring it takes me a bit to remember what time zone we are the same as..and when a live show comes on. LOL

I used to live 19 miles into Mountain Time Zone, but still had to work on Central. It never really got confusing, not enough so that I was ever late to work...

I've pretty much given up on figuring out what time shows are on in mountain time. Sometimes it's on Eastern time, other times it's shown in Cali time, I just look up the tv schedule and not pay attention to what time they say it's on in tv ads.

yes i do too. in addition to that, i went to college relatively close to the time zone as well, however it was in an area of the state that never changed their time ever during the year. so half the year it was the same time as my home, and half the year it was an hour ahead. definitely a hassle if you arent thinking about it and you have an appointment to catch in the other zone
