I've been into black/death/power metal & friends since about 1998, when I found a website with desktop themes based on these bands. Some artists include: In Flames, Iced Earth, Burzum, Vader, My Dying Bride, Blind Guardian, Emperor, Borknagar, Cannibal Corpse, Dark Funeral, Satyricon, Marduk, Einherjer, Celtic Frost, Cathedral, Tiamat, Therion etc. List goes on forever 🙂

BTW, Einherjer owns viking metal.
Everybody's talking about In Flames. They're alright, imo, I like At The Gates better, though...

I love metal!!! My cd collection includes:

Alice Cooper
Cradle of Filth
Dark Funeral
Deicide
Dimmu Borgir
Emporer
Enthroned
Face Down
Immortal
Iron Maiden
Machine Head
Marylin Manson
Megadeth
Mercyful Fate
Metallica
Morbid Angel
Motorhead
Nile
Pantera
Raise Hell
Sepultura
Slayer
Starpping Young Lad
Testament
Tool
Venom
Witchery

I'm sure there are others, cant remember them all!

Sure. I'm more Death Metal (Dying Fetus, Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, Suffocation, Morbid Angel, Hypocrisy, Meshuggah, At The Gates, The Haunted..) man myself but bands like Pantera, Testament, Helloween are frequently found on my playlist.

Like all metal threads, I just *have to* put My Dying Bride up here too 😛

And metallibloke, if you like the harder bands be sure to try:
- Grip Inc
- Meshuggah
- Edge of Sanity
- Opeth
- Hollenthon
- Nightfall
- Ministry
- Tristania
- Orphanage
- Trail of Tears
- The Haunted
- The Kovenant

All different (although Edge of Sanity's Crimson is pretty similar to Opeth)

Skyclad1uhm1 - I've heard some Grip Inc before, not bad, may get an album. I recently heard The Haunted and am definitely going to get One Kill Wonder. Useless fact: Marco Aro used to sing for Face Down (see my list), he's an excellent vocalist.

Europe is a paradise for metal lovers 😉 (Even the normal CD stores have metal sections)

Although the Dynamo festival again won't happen thanks to stricter EU rules :disgust:

You lean a little more to the thrashier side than I do, I do like Pantera though.

Some of my other favorite bands are Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Dio, Black Sabbath, Queensryche, Whitesnake, Deep Purple, & Hammerfall.

Have to agree with Aceshigh, with the exception of Whitesnake and Deep Purple, oh and throw in a little Anthrax, Nuclear Assault, Flotsam & Jetsam and Deliverance.

Wacken is happening this year isnt it?

I'm going to the Download Festival to see Iron Maiden this year at Donnington in the UK. Went to Donnington last year for the Ozzfest, and got soaked, left after System of a Down cus it was just a mud bath, and didnt want to get my new car stuck in the mud. (went home and watched the Eurovision song contest instead!!)

I like the classics here..

Maiden, Metallica, Pantera, Ozzy, Sabbath, Megadeth, AC/DC, Judas Priest..

I also love Iced Earth.

And of course you can't listen to Iced Earth without liking Blind Guardian. 😉

rh1 - I didn't know you also liked Iced Earth. Who turned you onto them?

It was someone here in the forums that turned me onto them.. Can't remember who, now..

From what I understand, as an American, of Dynamo, it's pretty much just a noisy mess.

Think so... And one of the other Dutch festivals will organize a metal day after their festival. Dynamo should take place again next year, a lot of cities are interested in having it (100K+ metal fans who never fight or cause other trouble are good for commercial sales).

I do... but why post a topic on how many people listen to heavy metal? It's a known fact everyone listens to heavy metal. 😛

Hmm, fraid I don't have too many pics, it's still in, erm, unrestored state. 😉 Here's a couple of older ones anyway.
Ahh, yes, that it is. All good, though, it's still a monster 😉 Just don't forget us a Anandtech when you find $15,000 and 4 years to put into it.
Sweet car anyway 🙂

Thanks. 🙂 I'll be sure not to, although I'll probably need more like double that amount. Donations anybody? I take PayPal. 😉
