Does anyone here know a lot about Egyptian Cotton Sheets?
Egyptian cotton is supposedly a high-quality cotton. A higher thread count (TC) (i.e. threads per square inch) yields a softer material.
However, some manufacturers inflate their thread counts by counting the individual parts that make up the thread as a single thread. For example, a manufacturer may claim 4 parts to one thread yielding a 1000 thread count sheet, instead of an actual 250 thread count sheet.
You're probably not going to really find a true thread count above 400. Some people say you can't feel anything above 250.
I like my 400 TC Egyptian Cotton sheets from Overstock.com. They run sheet sales every month or so.
