Does anyone here have or have had the swine flu?

I'm somewhat worried that I have it. I have had trouble breathing over the past few weeks (2), headaches and dizziness. The back of my throat is red and the top of my mouth is white.

What symptoms did you have?

Go to the doctor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a fever, chills, chest congestion, strong cough, trouble breathing, stuffy nose, and headache. After it started clearing up, I got viral pneumonia. I am going back tomorrow to work, but I still have a little cough.

Swine flu shouldnt last more than 2 weeks unless you caught something on top of that.

It's probably worth checking out if you're not getting better

So i'm for sure calling the doctors at 7am. Most likely will I be fine for the night? I've had these symptoms for a few weeks now.

Can you make it to a pharmacy? Some Musinex with chest and nasal meds will help you breath tonight. If you are wheezing, you may want to go to the doctor now. The told me to go to the ER if I wheezed, but I have asthma.

If this has been going on for 2 weeks then 1 night wont make a difference UNLESS: you feel extremely short of breath, have a lot of trouble breathing etc or if your symptoms are quickly getting worse (notable change within the last few hours)

wtf? Your symptoms sound odd. I had what I think (and my doctor assumed; they're not doing blood tests on everyone for it) was swine flu. I had a fever for 2 days, the doctor gave me antivirals, and I was better by the next week. I did have a small sinus infection as an after-effect, though.

Hmm...

My trouble breathing is just sometimes not being able to get a full breath initially. My chest has a solid pinch when i try. I'll definitely use my inhaler (albuterol sp?) before I crash.

I don't have a cough. I don't feel a fever and I'm not vomiting or having diarrhea. Does it sound like pneumonia?

I had these symptoms ( just began) about three weeks ago when I went in for a allergic reactions. I'm not having any and these symptoms are still present. Maybe they werent as obvious before as my doctor checked out my throat and breathing. Apparently I was an A-OK. If anything is found i'm going to wonder how that guy calls himself a doctor.

I've had a 'weak version' of it. What they tell people here is that as long as you don't get trouble breathing you're ok, but that you should contact a doctor the moment you get that.

Flu = fever, headache, sore throat, cough, lasts about a week or less.

You = no fever, no cough, no sore throat.

It seems to have hit my kid's school pretty well and neighbors across the street, but luckily we've dodged it so far.

My whole family had it--I was the only one that didn't get it. It's general flu symptoms- headaches, body aches, then the nausea and fever start a day or two after.

Tamiflu gets rid of the crap in a couple of days. HIGHLY recommended if you think you're getting it. Otherwise plan on being out of action for a week.

That doesn't sound like the Swine Flu. My 4yo son had it a couple of months ago.

I had it. Got really sick (no fever, intense aches all over my body for 2-3 days, sore throat, nauseous, tired) on a Friday, went to the Dr. Saturday morning and got some tamiflu. I was taking the max amount of tyalnol and ibprofin allowed each day for about 4 days along with the tamiflu for a week. I was out of commission for about 10 days. The worst part was the aches. I hurt so bad that I would shiver from the pain and I thought it was chills and a fever but then I would take my temp and I would be around 96-97 degrees. The Dr. also gave me a steroid inhaler to take if I started having trouble breathing. She said that I needed to take it and get to the ER ASAP.

Your thing doesnt sound like the swine. You may want to get checked out anyway though.

You just need to ask your boyfriend to be less rough on you.

Yeah I'll pass that along to the right sources. Thanks. ;-)

On a serious note, I got a doctors appt in just a couple hours. I now remember having the flu (nausea, chills, serious aches) right before this all began. I may have already had it but the respiratory issues have lingered.

Trouble breathing, cough, sore throat, headache, fever, chills, aches & pains. Been there, done that the last 5 days. Got progressively worse on Thursday - by 5pm on Th, I was ready to call in for the first time ever for Friday, but couldn't miss Fri. So, I had to tough it out & avoid people as much as possible on Friday. Managed to go hunting for a short while on Saturday (no point - deer could hear me coughing a mile away) and Sunday (cough suppresant + lots of cough drops = 1 deer.) I was only out for a total of 90 minutes & pretty much collapsed after dragging the deer out. (Big hill, fairly long distance to drag the deer.)

I'm pretty sure that 200,000 years ago, some caveman wouldn't have curled up into a ball & spent the day wimpering in bed. I'm glad those genes got passed down.

You're not supposed to go to the doctor for mild swine flu. I had some sort of chest infection that lasted over a week. Fever, chills, etc. I kept going to work and so did my co-workers who gave it to me, so it spread around everywhere.

Depends on the antibiotic. My Dad got Azithromycin recently - a week or two for that one.
