Does anyone here grow their own crops?

I am wanting to grow some eggplant and zucchini as well as maybe some apples.

Can I just take the seeds from the eggplant/zucchini and plant them? Or is there a much more complex routine in order to get an eggplant crop growing?

I'd love to hear from you all. Also if you guys could point me in the right direction in regards to perhaps a forum dedicated to this stuff I'd greatly appreciate it.

Apple trees will take a while, but for zucchini seeds just plant them. I did last year and got a ton.

I planted everything Monday but hopefully the freeze over this weekend wont kill them.:

Tomatoes (3 types)
Jalepenos
Yellow Peppers
Bell Peppers
Cilantro
Okra
Corn
Green Beans
Cantelope
Squash
Zuchini
Onions
Probably more, but I will remember when they start spouting.
etc.

Last year I had some squash and zuchini get HUGE. They grew so thick that I would miss some and they would just get massive, which makes them tough, but still it was awesome to have stuff growing.

I am going to add to my sprinkler system this year so I dont have to manually water every day.

Just take the seeds and plant them? I can do that. Should I put the seeds into like a damp napkin and then let them sprout first before planting them? Or can I just put them into a pot with fertilizer?

zucchini is one of the easiest things to grow, it is almost impossible to mess it up

but only plant 2-3 hills, you'll get a lot of zucchinis from that

just buy a pack of zucchini seeds and follow the directions, unless you never water them/it never rains, you'll have lots of zucchinis in a few months

Does weed count? And I don't mean the kind that you can sell for a ton of money. I do have a cherry tree, though I don't take care of it at all.
