Yeah, it is if you have no food intake and work out. Especially if you are already in a ketogenic state, hence protein.
When you work out, your muscle needs proteins/amino acids afterwards to repair itself from the damage that just occured. If you fast after busting your hump, your muscle will just dwindle away over time (catabolisis) because you aren't letting it grow to compensate for the work that just tore it up. Yeah, you'll lose a buttload of weight, but it won't be healthy, let alone productive. If you lose that muscle, you'll just have to fast longer to lose the same amount of weight, because less muscle = less calories burned.
Not to mention, fasting for a week might dump you into ketoacidosis if you have any kind of diabetic-related conditon, whether its a lot or a little. ketoacidosis = total catabolic state = have fun going to the hospital if you keep it up.
My reccomendation... Work out hard, if you're gonna do cardio, do it before you lift. Eat a butt-load of protein, and supplement your diet with a couple multi-vitamins/nutrients, esential oils, and a EFA. Definately have protein first thing in the morning, and right before you go to bed to prevent muscle loss.
The mirror/measuring tape is a better gauge of fat loss than the scale is. Don't let crazy numbers screw with your head. "I only lost 3 lbs. this week! I need to fast more!" but in reality you gained muscle, and your waist on your pants is loose. Trust your gut, even after you get rid of it.
