Does anyone here do pull-ups as part of their exercise routine?

I can't do even one pull-up, but working up to it. Do ~160 on the cable pulldowns, but I weigh 190 so still a while to go.

if you can do reps at 160 you should be able to pull off a 190lb pullup.

Are you trying to sculpt your biceps or what? If that's the case reverse grip pull downs are much better.

No, I'm trying to work my upper back and upper body generally. I already do focused bicep curls, chest press, lower chest press, and shoulder press. I do a leg press, calf ups, inner and outer abductors, lower back, lower abs, and quad curls the other two workout days each week.

I just do pull-downs...wide, palms forward and narrow, palms in...

Every so often, I'll do actual pull-ups...just to shake things up

How much weight do you do on the pull-down?

67 to 77 palms forward, 77 to 87 palms in...Kinda weak 🙂

Edit: Kilograms, not pounds

Pullups are one of my favorite exercises. It's REALLY hard to see people do them at the gym. I think it's the exercise that I see screwed up the most.....by far.

QFT. Love em, but NO ONE does them right. Most people only do partial reps and swing their body. Sad.

See lots of people fvck up barbell curls too.

I used to, but my own weight isn't enough anymore. So I either use a weight belt or do pull-downs. Mostly pull-downs though.

I do them once a week, 12 sets of 5. If you do them any more you overwork your muscles.

I bought a frame for $100 at sports authority, so its not a big of a deal to do them whenever I am in the mood.

If i didn't do them it wouldn't be much of a problem since I also do Hindu Pushups and Crunches. Sometime in the near future I'm going to do Pilates, I recently got a step barrel with the Sports Authority F&F coupon.
