95 shipped is a good price without the contract.
if you are getting a contract with it, i think you can get that phone for free.

95 is about the going rate on that phone.
it's really tiny, and thin, but why buy a phone for a crappy provider ?

why not have someone in a better area, take it over ?

how long is your contract ?

My dad had just got the plan last mayish and I have a 2yr contact w/them and my phone is a pos and I must get rid of it. Also i have to wait until 05 for it to expire. so until then I'm stuck w/it unless i want to pay a 200 cancellation fee. So i wanted to up to the x427 because I got a good deal on it. Also its really a free phone to me because I sold something for someone on ebay that was worth around 1000 and i got 10% of it so really to me its a free phone and I'm giong to make around 40ish selling the one i currently have. Thats why I want to get a new phone w/the crappy provider.

icic....
have you tried to have someone take over your contract ?
it isn't actually free since you're paying for it, but I guess if you feel like you need the phone, X427 is a pretty good choice.

Try to look for something with good RF.

What do you mean by someone taking over?

change of responsibility.
basically another person assumes your contract.

then you are free to sign up with a different contract, without paying any penalty fees to cingular.

Really you can do that? do you need to know the people or does cingular do this for you?

you just have to have someone that's willing to take over the contract, and you just go to any cingular store and tell them you want to do a change of responsibility on the account.

They'll switch the account over to the other person's name, pending a credit check.
