you got the cable off ebay?

friend of mine does that with his samsung. i was thinking of getting the other sanyo picture phone back when it was $200. i should have switched my plan at the end of feb when they were doing some pretty darn good specials. the current plans all seem to suck.
 
I have the Samsung a500 and it works for me. Try going here: Text to download the USB drivers. Then just make a new networking connection/dial thingie in windows and use that to dial.
