Nope I own a Honda Accord ... if I were to buy an econobox I would consider the Nissan Sentra, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla or Mazda Protege. All good cars.

should have the same engine as the 00-02 GXEs

1.8L DOHC 126hp@6000rpm/ 129lb*ft @2400rpm

i drive a sentra, nice car, fun to drive, i got 35.2mpg yesterday and it's an automatic!

I think they're dropping in the 2.5 from the SE-R (which has/had oil consumption problems).
But they're solid, reliable cars.
My 1995 Sentra is still running like new.

Where's Rallispec?
He had a 2001 GXE and then traded it in for a 2002 SE-R Spec V

If you're looking for an urban runabout, the Sentra would be at the bottom of my list.

1) Corolla/Civic (reliable, good gas mileage, better build quality, quality interiors (especially the Corolla), and EXCELLENT resale value).
2) Protege (peppy performance, good looks, and excellent handling)
99) Sentra (had to drive my friend's '02 back to his dorm after he had a bit too much to drink. Felt like a damn rental car).

Look at the JD Power ratings for the '02 Sentra...pitiful

Now look at the '02 Civic:

And '03 Corolla:

Ahh yes, but the Sentra wins by .1 in the consumer ratings 😀
Sentra - 9.1
Civic - 8.5
Corolla - 9.0

Interesting...only for the fact that the Sentra gets whipped in sales by both the Civic and Corolla. Therefore, there is a smaller pool to draw owners from. And we all know how Nissan Fanboys are 😀

'02 Sales

Civic 313,159
Corolla 254,360
Sentra 106,060

You also failed to mention (number of people voting for the "consumer rating"):

Civic 131
Corolla 158
Sentra 29

OWNED! 😀

That being said, I trust JD Power's ratings over the other ones listed. If Sentras have that much crap in the first 90 days, I'd hate to see them after 2-3 years.
