does anyone have Goodyear Wrangler RT/S's on their vehicle?

I just got two new wrangler rt/s's for my car and i noticed that the new ones and the old ones have this shallow groove or indentation that goes from the tread to the rim down the sidewall. i noticed a truck sitting in a parking lot yesterday with the same tires and the same strange groove down the sidewall. At first i thought it was a manufacturing defect, but i'm begining to wonder after seeing the same thing on a different vehicle.

i think that might be common, we have the same thing on two of our trucks. They aren't Wrangler tires though

That indented area is probably the strongest part of the tire. It is where the steel belts overlap in the tread.

I gave up on them when I felt my front floating out from me on a entrance ramp to the interstate... While I'm sure there's better, and always personal preference, my BFG AT KO's (which have been siped) stuck to wet pavement like glue. Now with half tread, they are still good - not jaw dropping - but still stick better than the wranglers did when they were new.
