I have a DFI P2XBL ATX motherboard and i am thinking about upgrading to either a Copermine or C2. Hoever, I am not sure if it supports those CPUs. On the their web page they only list revison D, which i do not think my board is.
Does anyone know if my board supports these cpus?

I have the P2XBL Rev. D+ on my main SOHO system and have no problem using a P3/700 (I've owned this board for nearly a year and half with CPUs ranging from the PII/350, PIII/450, and now the Coppermine). To be honest, I've been very surprised with the stability and quality of DFI boards (even on a SS7 board I had a for secondary system.)

Unfortunately though, I think you're out of luck. On their website, there's a notation indicating that you have to have at least the D+ revision. I remember when the Coppermines first came out, I emailed their tech support and was told the earlier boards did not handle the lower voltages of the board revisions prior to D+.

Ive had my board for about as long as you. Can you tell me where exactly it says that it is rev d? Hopefully, i am missing somthing by looking at the serial number that came on teh box.

Without opening my system, I know it says on someplace on the PCB "Rev. D+". Take a look around your motherboard and see what it says...

If you look at the actual board itself, after the letters P2XBL, it will have a revision number. As far as I know (according to the website) the earlier revisions will not support the coppermine. You'll have to open the case and check out your board.

It all depends what you need your computer to do, DBavaria. On my end, I need a stable and reliable SOHO workstation for productivity software. Overclocking is hardly a concern when it comes down to it. Yes, I'll agree that it doesn't hold much promise for the speed freak though. Keep in mind that it does have through 8x multipliers so you could in theory add a Coppermine 800 if you so wanted.
