this one

my friend is using windows 2000, but the software and drivers cd which came with her webcam is not windows 2000 compatible. intel does not offer software downloads (other then drivers) for this webcam and wants me to buy it for like $10. i figure that if i was going to have to buy software, i might as well buy what ever is the best out there. what software do u guys use for like video capture & taking pics with ur webcams? i assume there has got to be software out there that is better then the intel software, no? 😀

Hello. I have the exact webcam that you're talking about. I haven't had much luck with it in WinXP but if you download the newest drivers that should be compatible with Win2000 and WinXP, you can use netmeeting and not have to worry about the Intel software. 🙂
In WinXP you just go to the Start and Run and type "conf". I tried this on Win2k and it works the same. Just make sure your friend has the latest service pack and maybe that has lined out some of the kinks, if there are any on Win2k. I haven't tried mine on XP after installing SP1 but maybe it will fix whatever problems I was having.

Newest Drivers for Easy PC Camera

I hope this helps. 🙂 Good luck!

i am ok with drivers, but it's software thats got me. i know netmeeting does video conferencing, but it does not do video captures (i think). do u know of a good program for video capture and still captures?

I have the software, they release it a year later. I paid 10 bucks from intel. It's quite huge zipped up so my 200 megger website wont' do.. but I'm willing to ftp it to you, or burn you a copy. And the capture does work under w2k

Alright Ladies and Gents I HAVE WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. Since there's no way I can post the Win2k version of Intel Create and Share software and drivers for all their digicams (it's 292MB). I downloaded for the very 'limited time' it was available from an intel server in canada last year for about a month 🙂 Luckily I had a .edu connect so it was no hassle. I would be willing to set up an FTP for all of you who need it but I need anyone who needs/wants the file and or could host it to email me - razeorc@hotmail.com, It works great with my Pocket PC cam w/Win2k SP1,2or3 (i've tried it all). I will be awaiting your replys/mails 🙂
