Does anyone have a VPN that I can use for ~100mb or so?

This thread is going places. Got my popcorn out. Generally ignoring laws of a foreign country you are in is a pretty bad idea. As in really bad.

let's just see what happens. what's the worst that could come of it? OP posts a new thread asking how to use a VPN to break out of a chinese prison while being ass raped by the triad? D:

Jailbreaking isnt illegal..it voids the warranty. If it was illegal you wouldnt be able to sell it on ebay advertising as such. Come on now..use some sense.

So cracking Photoshop to circumvent the authentication system is legal if you purchase a physical disk?

After all, you are modifying YOUR software that is installed on YOUR computer, right?

No, you are modifying THEIR software that you have a LICENSE to USE.

You when you jailbreak an iPhone you are modifying THEIR software (iOS) that you have a LICENSE to USE.

Here is a good free VPN service. They disconnect you every 20min on free acts but it should not be an issue in your case:

I guess it might be blocked though but its worth a try.

Jailbreaking has nothing to do with cracking software, license keys, or any way of obtaining software illegally.

All it does is open the iOS to 3rd party apps that Apple wont approve or dont have the capability of doing.

Was there meant to be a point in there somewhere?

Come on Patranus, you can do better.

What?

I have a buch of ass clowns arguing that jailbreaking an iPhone is legal when it is clearly not. I provided a comparable example of something that is also clearly illegal and they still don't get it.

I bet these are the same ass clowns that think pirating movies is also "legal".

You've brought up some BS analogies and no hard evidence that jailbreaking is illegal.

Keep trying, Patranus.

I doubt that it's "illegal," but is probably in violation of the terms of service contract and may even void the warranty.

Myself, I shake my head at the OP. He comes here asking for help with something that may be illegal in the country where he's currently located, yet, when someone dares to question him about it, he goes into attack mode.

Not exactly the best way to get anyone's help.

Jailbreaking your phone violates the DMCA in the US. This is why EFF asked for a DMCA exemption last year. So yes, jailbreaking breaks US law.

It's because they are not illegal. I did some asking/digging today and China has no laws regarding their internet filtering, because they barely acknowledge they do it. They refuse to even list what websites they block.

So continue your bitching about things most of you armchair lawyers know nothing about, it's cool

Then enjoy your "unbroke" phone...or find someone in China to do it for you. (as has already been suggested)

I found a VPN for $5/month that was a protocol the phone used, got it working yesterday.

Did 3 more today for 50 kuai a pop ;)
