Does anyone have a list of all the motherboard makers?

I know there are a lot, and I am sure I don't even know all of them. I am mainly interested in AMD MB makers, but I don't know of any that don't make both AMD and Intel.


Off the top of my head(or more likely from the newegg manufacturers list) I can think of

Abit, Albatron(who the heck are they), Aopen(don't know much about them, Asrock(or them), Asus, Biostar, Chaintech, DFI, ECS, Epox, Foxcon(um okay???), Gigabyte, Leadtek(didn't know they made motherboards), Matsonic(Don't know them), MSI, PC Chips, Shuttle, Soltek, Soyo, Syntax, XFX(don't know the last 2 either).

I assume some of the ones I don't know, could be like OEM manufacturers or whatever, did I miss anybody?

Albatron was formed by ex-Gigabyte people. ASRock is Asus's budget subsidiary to compete with ECS. I think Foxconn makes a lot of Intel's own boards for them, could be wrong on that... The only ones coming to mind that you haven't listed are Tomato, Tyan, Arima, Intel and Supermicro.

there are probably 100+ of them who are or have sold motherboards in the US market in the past 4 years
i would say 10 to 20 "top contenders"
and maybe 4 or 5 that i would consider worth buying from at any given time
