I recently recieved an ad to sign up for a captal one debit mastercard.

pretty much a debit card with capital one/master card name, and extra benifiets.

Im in the middle of changing my bank to a local credit union, and since their visa debit card does not have any benifiets, I was wondering if I should link it to the capital one debit card.

anyone use it? anyone heard of it? good? bad? supposedly, they will still have the point system to get reward. but I dont really know how that works. supposedly, I will get 5k points for my first purchase and 1 dollar = 1 point after that.

thanks

Just be aware that you normally do not get the kind of protections you get with a credit card on a debit card.

When I had capital one they always seemed to be able to find a fee for something.
But then most banks do these days.

Wait....Debit cards are used for that bank and only that bank. You cannot link a Citizens debit card to a BOA checking account. Unless you having a seperate checking account with Capitol One and a Savings with the credit uinion, I do not see how it will work. Am I understanding you right?

what they advertise is that their debit card will link to my existing bank account/credit union. So when I make a purchase with that debit card, it will just automatically deduct from my bank/credit union.

so essentially, their debit card will replace my bank/credit union debit card.

Uh... Capital One is a bank with branches, too. Are you sure you aren't referring to their branch-based checking account debit card?

Proof of said ad

EDIT: Nevermind, found it
