Ha.

Harlow did a series of experiments in which an infant monkey was taken away from its mother and place with a cold wire mesh surrogate (pictured) or a soft plush surrogate. The monkeys often exhibited anomolous behaviors such as rocking themselves. If you've ever seen film of it, You wouldn't forget it, it's pretty disturbing, but I think it's just his penchant for psych stuff, and not relevant to the general population.

:)

That's the most surprising finding of this poll, I think, the amount of people who enjoy moldy bread in their fermented milk.

I actually quite enjoy it as well, I always feel like I'm getting penicilin for free. :)

A fitting end to Harry Harlow would have been death by having an orangutan rip Harry's nuts off. He was a saddist.

I think it's probably arguable that he was a researcher operating in an ethical vacuum. Judgin him by today's standards isn't really meaningful, though it's obvious that nothing even remotely close to the experiments would occur today.

I knew who Harlow was and what he did. Had to look up the specifics to remember why it might be punny.

That makes this picture a joke?

A joke is supposed to be funny. This is an obscure reference.
