Does anyone ever play the first Diablo?

I got bored and downloaded the demo since I don't have my copy here at work and thought I would check battle.net out to see if I could join any games. Needless to say I was the only one in there lol. So does anyone ever play one of the greatest originals anymore?

Diablo 2 was far better for online play. I actually liked the original Diablo better for single player, though.

To put it in perspective, the original Diablo had a bug that could easily be exploited to duplicate items (obviously ruins "fair" online play). Combine that with dozens (if not hundreds) of easy dupe, God mode, anti-God mode, level 99 spells, etc. programs and it's pretty easy to see why Diablo 1 multiplayer is pointless, unless you're strictly playing with friends. Programs aside, I don't believe they ever fixed the original duplication exploit.

Diablo 2 is far from unexploitable, but it was definitely a step in the right direction (Closed Realms). It also had quite a bit more content, and was just tuned much better for party play styles (more boss battles, monsters scaled up in toughness with more players in the game, more classes, etc.).

I have the disc tucked safely in my cd binder. It has not been placed into a cd drive in over 15 years I think.

No point when D2 is better in just about every way imaginable.

I'll always fondly remember the experience of installing and playing it through the first time though.

Unlikely since it was a Win95 only game and even to play it once you would have had to use it less than 15 years ago.

And it didn't run so well on a cacheless P90, either :(

I started playing it again the other day, just the single player though. It looks absolutely awful on my 22" monitor, I can hardly tell what some of the monsters are.
