Does anyone else's convsersations include excessive quoting?

It seems like me and my friends use other people's words too much. We quote from films all the time in normal conversation for fun, stuff like fight club and taxi driver, its a kick. we also quote charles manson a ton, and one of my friends has all the 'hasaad market' prank phone calls pretty much memorized, he uses those phrases alllllll the time. we also quote pretty much anything from the prank call 'sound boards' out there, arnold, pacino, sam jackson, etc etc...

anyone else find themselves doing this? or are we freak?

Nah, its pretty normal. My friends and I do the same thing, though apparently not as excessively as your friends.

edit: In hindsight, it would be a misnomer to call my friends normal. Let me rephrase my original comment. "Its pretty common." 😀

I consistently use the lines, "well double dumbas* on you!", "helloooo computer" and "the keyboard, how quaint" from Star Trek IV. 🙂

I also tend to say "holy bananas batman" a lot. I'd say I somehow got it as a cross between Batman and Monty Python but I've been saying that since long before I ever saw any Monty Python.

one of my favs is from fight club, is to say to someone "that was clever", then when they say thanks you say "hows that working out for you?"...
or whenever we are mad at a girlfriend or whatever we say "we are a generation of men raised by women, I'm beginning to wonder if another woman is really what we need"... but that always strikes me as a bit,, well, gay.....
ah i could go on and on from just that movie... prank calls are another matter. we all collect prank calls, and can go back and forth with the classics quoting word for word...

Heh, trust me, it could be worse. You could be quoting yourself and each other all the time like my friends and I seem to do. At least quoting from pop culture would make sense when an outside party listens, when you're quoting amongst the group, from the group, it turns into gibberish for all other folk 😛

well,,, to tell ya the truth. we do quote ourselves, our own prank phone calls that is. but they are "out there", like on kazaa and whatnot so theyre not toooo exclusive, or at least i liek to think so 🙂
