I worked at Hanford for a couple of years when I was younger. Spent about 6 months at their FFTF (breeder reactor) site. We were exposed to "real radiation" on a frequent basis, although the levels weren't usually very high...just enough to trip the dosimeter...often before noon on Monday...

Most of us had t-shirts that said:
I work at Hanford.
In case of a black-out, stand close to me. I glow in the dark!

So, the possibility of wi-fi radiation doesn't bother me...as long as it doesn't cause me to grow more fingers and toes, (6 on each hand/foot is enough) or cause my babies to be born nekkid...

i work with licensed and spread spectrum radios from 150hz to 4.8ghz. my kids all came out normal (and nekkid) and im mainly normal. i was standing in front of a transmitter yesterday that was pumping out 2.7W at 173hz, and have other radios that do the same at 5 and 6W. your body will block the reception if you dont have a focused antenna, its not really a strong signal. i wouldnt worry that your hair will fall out from it or anything... wait... maybe thats why im almost bald! oh wait. i was before i got this job...

Can someone tell me it's going to be okay? What about the children who are exposed to it at school?

Anyone who'll mention cell phones can stop. Okay, just... stop it.

EDIT:You can mention cell phones.

Let me explain how electromagnetic radiation works. There is a photon or an electromagnetic wave thats emitted by whatever. This then travels in whatever direction it was cast. It stays linear. As you know, all things are made of atoms and there is mostly space in an atom. I think it's something like 99.9999999999999% is empty. If by chance you get hit by one, the energy is transfered to the particle and it heats up. That is how microwave oven works, it targets the water particles.

At the power level we are talking about, you get more radiation from the sun when you are standing outside. We are talking non-ionising radiation here, ionising is definitely bad for you.

This is as bad as Marlin1975s attempt to cause a sacre over Publix offering free antibiotics...

WiFi causes no harmful radiation whatsoever. You don't need to worry about it... It's like radio frequencies, there is nothing to worry about.

I worry more about satllite TV spot beams.

the 10,000 active cell phones and their towers directly surrounding you at any point in time are much more powerful, and people carry them right next to their gonads most of the time.

WI-FI would be the least of my worries.

<-- carries two cell phones and a pager all day.

173hz?

That's ELF frequencies methinks - submarine communication? ;)
