Same here. Try to squeeze every minute of bed time out.

No , I always look at the clock when I wake up.
I have had some weird mornings where I have gotten up walked in the kitchen and there was a bowl of cereal ready for milk or a frying pan on the stove, stove off, with a carton of eggs sitting on the counter.

I live alone.
Its creeped me out.
I figure I must be doing it in my sleep, that or I have a ghost.

I've done that plenty of times, but the worst is my alarm clock. You can change the time zones on the front of it, and sometimes at night I'll accidentally hit it and/or when it first goes off in the morning, this causes me to be pushed back 3 hours and then I wake up again thanks to my alarm, and I am 3 hours late.

i was at this swim camp once, and whoever had our room before us set it for lke 3am. so we woke up burshed our teeth, were tired as hell, then as we walked out realized it was only 3....so we went back to bed, and actually felt great in the morning.

so, from that point forward if i know its going to be rough to get up, i set an alarm for like 3am just so i can sit up in bed, turn it off and pass out again...
weird, i know...but it works...

Growing up, my brother did that a few times.

I've never done it that I can recall though.

I can tell cause there is no light out and I sleep near a window. I'll just go back to sleep or use the bathroom if that's the reason why I woke up.

I agree with that. I would be late for work every day if my wife didn't get up when the alarm goes off then make sure I get up. I don't even hear the alarm. Left undisturbed I'm going to be sleeping at least until 8-9 AM.

ahh, see now I would do that but I can't see for shit without my glasses on.
Then how do you make it to the bathroom? One of my professors once gave us an example of the bootstrap in a computer's boot-up sequence - first thing she does when she wakes up is put on her glasses. First thing, because she said she's just about useless without them.

I will find my alarm clock with my hand, bring it close to my face so I can read it (I've got really bad eyes, too), and turn on the backlight. I always check first, because I'd damn well better be getting out of bed for a really good reason.

I sleep until the very last minute, right up to the "point of no return" (i.e. there's no chance in hell I will get where-ever I want to be within 5 minutes of "ontime"). Therefore, I stare at my clock every time I wake up and make sure I don't wake up early.

However, I use to do it pretty often when I didn't have a clock or my clock went weird. The worst was seeing/believing it was 9am when it was actually 7am, then panicking downstairs to get ready, only to realize I got at least an hour to sleep more.

Always look at the clock. Don't wanna get up. I'll take as much additional sleep as I can get.

I always look at the clock right when I wake up to see if I still have time to sleep.

That's got to be nice. I don't drink, but I think my internal clock does. If left alone, some nights I'll sleep 7hrs, or sometimes 12. I've got no idea how the hell it decides to do what it does.

People will call shens, but this story is true.

Our workday started at 5:48AM. A co-worker of mine got out of work one winter day, went home and laid down to take a nap.

He woke up at 6:30 and drove like a crazy man to work knowing he was late. What he didn't realize is that it was not 6:30AM but PM. On the way in, he runs into the second shift guys leaving for lunch, but doesn't listen to them as they're hollering to him asking him what he's doing there. He goes in, changes his clothes and gets out on the floor and there's nobody around. Duh, everyone's at lunch. But he still doesn't put two and two together. Once lunch is over and they're all filtering back he finally realizes what he's done.

We teased him about it for months. He was far from the sharpest tool in the shed to begin with.
