Does anyone else use newspaper to clean the windows on their car?

My mom taught me this little trick a while back. I use balled up pieces of newspaper and Windex to clean my windows (something about the ink in the paper helps polish and shine the windows). I was telling my housemate about it and he looked at me as if I was nuckin' futs :p

I do. My brother in law told me about that nifty little trick. It also doesn't leave any streaks.

The newspaper seems kind of coarse and will scratch the glass

Perhaps so, but nothing that I've been able to notice.

Believe me, it works. Just try it. Good way to recycle your newspaper too.

Glass isn't THAT soft. Paper sure as heck isn't going to scratch it.

I use newspaper to dry my car windows, but I don't crumple it up. I just fold it and run it down the glass. Does it work better being crumpled up?
