Transfers are always slow, can't always connect to servers. Most of the interfaces stink.

I think the media may have hyped it too much as the sucessor to Napster, and its not delivering.

I had absolutely no luck with gnutella.

I'm trying CuteMX and iMesh now, but they don't even have the selection that Scour had.

Maybe soon enough people will migrate to them.

I heard gnutella's interface sucked so I didn't bother. I have used scour on an off, but quite honesty only the fervor with which people search for pron is the only reason to use scour. Transfers are rarely fast, and are frequently cut off, if they even start in the first place.

Imesh isn't too bad but when I used it its servers cut off all the time and its selection wasn't top of the line.

Gnutella is the result of an experiment being exposed to too much media attention. The architecture is so flawed that I find it remarkable that it works at all. Let that beast die. Nothing is going to beat a client to client direct connection model like Napster. Who cares if the connection server is centralized?

Actually dwell, it does make for an interesting system. Unreliable, yes. Flawed, maybe. Worthless, no.

At work I've been toying with gnutella-esque systems for certain future products. But for right now, it is mostly hype, and it doesn't really work well at all.

Toadnode is a better interface for Gnutella but the downloads are slow. I also tried Gnucleus and it just won't work at all.
