To my eyes she was beautiful. Not necessarily history's greatest beauty, but certainly very attractive. I am not really clear how anyone could think it was worth starting a thread about how ugly this woman was:

She was pretty but she had a shit body. That's just a fact. Women back then never exercised and she was pudgy without any tone. Would I have hit? Yes, but compared to celebs from today she was blah.

She published an article in 1952 about how she stayed in shape, complete with pictures of her exercising.

Not saying that she exercised as much as people do today, but I am saying that you're talking out of your ass.

Good job, I say she didn't exercise and you find me a quote in which she says she didn't exercise except now she does a whopping 10 minutes/day. But speaking of ass, explains why she looked like this. No thigh shape, no calves, no arm muscle. This is why people these days say she was pretty but had an average body.

I think Marilyn was pretty attractive, I wouldn't have turned her down haha. Probably not quite as attractive as Hepburn or Grace Kelly though if we're doing actresses from that era.

Man.. you guys baggin on Kaley Cuco are either nuts or haven't realized that ALL beautiful women are going to look rough while living their lives in reality.

Unless of course you really just want a porcelain doll to look at and not actually treat like a human being.

Without all that bullshit airbrushing and lighting she isn't any special, is she ugly? Nope, but if she wasn't famous and was just walking down the street nobody would pay her any attention. She's nothing more than average, she's a text book example of Hollywood magic.

Seeing her photoshopped pictures makes me think of that South Park episode where all the boys at school were dating girls photoshopped selfies. That episode was hilariously accurate.

Compared to marilyn, there is a girl with a nicer, hotter body, but her face is much, much closer to average. For the exact reasons you say. If not for the geek fandom of big bang theory she wouldn't even be on anybody's radar. Put her next to a natural beauty like charlize theron and she will quite literally shrivel and die on the spot.

I was with you until the end, Charlize without makeup's about on par with Gwyneth & Kate Hudson without makeup. In real life all 3 aren't even recognizable compared to their photoshopped pictures.

She's certainly nowhere near the most beautiful in history. But ugly? Bruh.

Ugly? No.

Attractive? Not for me.

Yes, she is beautiful, but I do not find her attractive. It comes down to personal tastes and opinions.

Marilyn was big for the same reason Madonna (another so-so) got big: she was a whore.

Men love a whore, because deep down we are practical and we prefer to fantasize about women who we can actually sleep with. Hence the MILF porn explosion.

Hepburn might have been hot but she wouldn't touch your dick for a million dollars. That cuts down on the appeal.

I hear all the time that Marilyn Monroe was one of the most attractive woman who've ever lived but to me she's just.....gross.

I feel like there are millions of women MUCH hotter then her.

I also hated her singing voice, that time when she sang happy birthday to John F Kennedy just made me cringe and grit my teeth.
Not so much ugly as trashy. I've noticed that quite often when a woman goes on and on about how beautiful MM was, I end up finding that she's trashy too. Gross is a good term overall, like if you woke up next to her you would immediately run to wash yourself off with Lysol.

Looking at stills of her do not do her justice imho. She was good looking, but maybe not as unbelievably glamorous as many of todays pin ups.

I think one has to see clips of her while she was trying to be seductive. She had a seductive personality that she could turn on. That is the thing that made her the sex symbol that she was in the 20th century.

Yeah, I have a similar reaction to her singing that. And objectively, millions of women are better looking. What she did have was an ability to turn on flat out sex appeal when she wanted to. She was in touch with something there, but all women have that ability, though most don't know it.
