Does anyone else think DS9 was a soap opera meets star trek?

The last star trek that wasn't something of a soap opera was TNG --- maybe even the movies. Basically...star trek + character development + continuity = soap opera in space.

It had good and bad episodes.

I was about to do something violent if I had to watch one more episode about Bajorin religion.
Though, Kai Winn was a first rate b!tch.

It was the bet ST series to date well, with the mid-seasons of TNG and here's the big news:

SpikeTV will add the third STAR TREK series to its prime time line-up beginning in April. According to a report at Morty's TV, STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE will bow on the cable network Monday, April 5th.

Star Trek: Deep Space 9 will be coming to Spike TV on Monday, April 5, 2004, airing weekdays at 7:00PM. and Saturdays at 4:00PM. Also, an all-day marathon has been scheduled on Friday, April 9 from 9:00AM -11:00PM What better day to air a marathon on the ninth day of a month!

Effective Monday, April 5, 2004:
12:00PM Seven Days (replaces 2nd airing of MacGyver)
1:00PM Star Trek: TNG (replaces Seven Days)
7:00PM Star Trek: DS9 (replaces Star Trek: TNG)
