because they all cater to a specific demographic in a bid to get ratings...

on top of that, i think that news should be fair, but none of it is, none of the news centers broadcast without any bias... they are in it for money...

i almost think that the announces should have to say where they lie verbally so people understand...

and if anyone can point out a non partisan system that broadcasts, not narrowcasts, i would gladly retract my statement

Better yet, admit they are all simply tabloid news.
Just like the giant Martian head on the mag at checkout
with the headline, "Martian baby with giant head found living in subway".

They all have their circus act.
You won't get ?real news" from a single one of them.
Their priority:
1. Rich blond divas
2. Missing rich blond divas
3. Rich blond divas having affairs
4. Rich blond diva abusing her child
5. Rich blond divas trying to adopt a child
6. Everyone on the earth is going to die from the latest health alert
7. That Martian baby with the giant head living in a subway
8. BS financial news, useless, inaccurate coming from the old rear extremities
9. And back to that Martian baby, may have the swine flu, and is going to die
10. Obama called McCain a poo poo
11. Hillary called Obama a poo poo
12. BREAKING NEWS... Sarah Palin's daughter mother of giant head baby Martian

I was also going to say NPR is the only org that comes to mind that actually has real journalists still working for it. The rest are just news marketers and should be put into a bus and run off a cliff, the lot of them. Watch something on fox or cnn and then on NPR and it's like you've just watched entertainment tv followed by real news.

Not a bad idea. I rarely watch any broadcast news and cable news amounts to less than 1 hour per day.

It's about as bad it seems as the "yellow dog" journalism of the Hearst era.

Who would determine if the news channel is "narrow" or "broad" casters? What criteria would have to be used to make this determination?

NPR. Only NPR.

I think that's the solution to the problem - only NPR will be allowed to broadcast. They are fair and we don't need any others. The government can buy the rest out.

(The sad thing is, only the non-righties will all recognize this as satirical. The righties will be a mix of understanding that, unable to decide, or are already typing madly to disagree.

Perhaps even more sad is that many of the righties would actually happily kill PBS/NPR).

Yeah, like the right wing wacko Chavez did in Venezuela. Those righties make me so mad with their liberty curtailing policies!

I just got home and turned on CNN. I see moron's in the street singing Thriller. I flip over to Fox and see a crowd doing the moonwalk. I turned off my TV.
