Does anyone else Speed TIVO?

I found out I can kick up the TIVO to the 1st fast forward level & it keeps the closed captioning, & have started to watch recorded shows, especially the slow parts & read the closed captioning.

Anyone else trying this?

We leave on the closed captioning all the time, I noticed it stays on (the closed captioning) if I choose the 1st level of fast forward on our series II TIVO

I burn through the recorded shows...

not hacking, what I do is turn on cc when mute is on for my tv. Then mute the tv (cc comes on) then press fast forward once... the cc text still gets displayed and if you read fast enough you can watch the whole show this way.

Exactly, sometimes the CC sux, but you get the bulk of the dialog. We just leave on the CC & if you hit FF, it auto mutes & the CC stays on. Wife & kids hate it, but I do it when they're not around/watching.

yeah I usually don't have cc on, I tend to read the text even though the sound is on and it's distracting to me. 😀
