Does anyone else not like going on vacations?

i prefer to relax whenever possible, but i like going to new places, especially for the photography opportunities. 🙂

I'm with the OP.

I despise travelling. I'd rather stay home and just do nothing. This is why I rarely take more than 2 days off in a row from work...unless they are around naturally occuring holidays.

It's one of those things you don't miss unless you've done it. I did a lot of traveling one summer a few years back and now I can't get away from Indiana enough. Do yourself a favor, go one a really nice vacation (out of the country if you're feeling adventurous, invite a few friends to go too). There's more to life than getting new computer hardware.. how will you feel when you're dying, knowing that there is so much of the world you haven't seen? Stop thinking about money as much and think of traveling as living your life.

I'd probably be like "Oh fvck...I'm dying, some one call an ambulance I don't wanna die!"

why wouldn't you want to die? because there's stuff you haven't done that you'd still like to do?

If you don't enjoy vacations, it's because you're going to crappy destinations.

I'd rather stay home than go sit on a beach for a week (though I may be biased, because I live on the coast). In contrast, I spend all year looking forward to my annual ski trip.

i can't believe how much negativity towards vacations there is on this board. there are many more hermits on this board than i expected. i just don't understand the feeling of wanting to stay in the same place forever and never go try new things in new places. hell, i want to move out of this area to somewhere hot year round near the water.

glad i don't fall into that category 😀

The only things I hate about vacations are that last day of work and coming home 🙂

I know exactly what you mean. At times I don't even want to come back. Last time I went to Thailand I wanted to settle there for a year and just live like a king. The first week on the job back after a vacation is a killer.

I don't really want to move from St. Louis, but if I had to, I'd rather move South - I can't stand gloomy, nasty winter weather we get here during most winters, so why would I move north, where they get even worse?

I do have a friend who loves work so much he can't stand going on holidays. He is a psychiatrist, so I'm not exactly sure why he loves it so much. Regardless, I prefer the holiday, with a few extra days tacked on to spend at home relaxing, getting things done.

i hate it cuz you get more tired doing all these stuff and you come back to work sore and crap..

plan vacations accordingly. give yourself a day or two before you have to go to work so you can sit around and relax some more.

Or...better yet, sit around and relax the whole time for maximum stress relief.
