Does anyone else make money by having a AAA membership?

Why do companies give discounts and pretty good ones at that for having AAA?

I only got AAA because Progressive told me that the discount would be more than the membership itself which it was and I just called tmobile and got 12% off my bill.

Cable internet + basic TV (the cheapy $10 program) cost less than just cable internet from Comcast in my area. Doesn't make much sense to me but I'll take it even when I don't have a TV anymore.

Same, I have called and they do not know WTF I am talking about when I refer to the AAA discount. They usually transfer me, promptly disconnecting me.

I'm pretty sure it depends on your region, the AAA are regional IIRC. For example, the Chicago AAA gives discounts on prescriptions here. I guess you could try thisl ink though: http://membersonthegowireless.com/

Im with Farm Bureau and got the TMobile 12% discount by going to a retail store. Being an 8 year customer of TM and 13 year customer of FB, I *deserved* that discount.

I usually profit from major memberships.

However, many don't have money to buy anything, so they never profit and probably aren't best served by any memberships.
