I've had this problem with every combination of router and (usb) wireless network card I've tried: After I boot the computer, the connection will work fine for a while, then disappear. Windows' wireless networking says I'm still connected and everything is good, bu the signal lights on the card aren't lit, and if I try to bring up a webpage, nothing happens and I get an error. Only way to fix it is to reboot the computer.

There seems to be no rhyme or reason to when this happens or how long the connection lasts before it happens, and like I've said, I've tried many combinations of 4 routers (1 netgear wireless-B, 1 netgear wireless-G, and 2 linksys wireless-Gs) and several usb wireless 'cards' from Netgear and D-Link. This has also been in 2 different locations - my parent's house in St. Louis and my own apartment in Arkansas.

Any suggestions?

Given the amount of hardware that you tried, you are doing something unusual to be punished this way.😉

Any of these should work if you start with the Wireless computers and the Wireless Router only few feet apart.

If all of these attempts were done with one specific computer try another one.

In any case, the best deal on a Good Router is currently this, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833162134

May be some info on these pages would help you to figure out what you are misconfiguring.
