My dad is the worst. I hate going anywhere with him, you can never tell what he will do. Tonight he went with my wife and step-mom to take my son to karate and he ripped a loud fart right in the middle of class, and it was packed full of parents. He then proceeded to yell extremely loud "GO LONDON(my son's name)..YEAH!". UGHHH I am glad I was at work.

Meh, the worst thing my mom ever did was way back in high school (freshman year I believe) there was a girl I liked but thought she was a b!tch. I told my mom I thought she was cute, so she fricken calls the girl and tells her. God damn that sucked.

I wish my parents were involved with my life enough as a kid to actually be embarrassing.

Not really. My dad tends to talk much, much louder than necessary, so I hate holding any conversation with him in public as it tends to be very public. Other than that-nothing.

LONDON(my son's name)

Having a dad that lacks the common sense to not name his child something like that is pretty embarrassing.

I think it's nice and unique name. But then again, "John Smith" is pretty cool...

Who doesn't?

My parents have embarrassed me, and I am sure they will continue to embarrass me until they or I am dead.

I am sure I will embarrass my two little ones when they get older.

It is part of the cycle of life, my friends.

If that's the case, he's a genius.

Not my real name, but you're right, it isn't very cool. Where's the thread about the op's friend wanting to name his son either Vader or Xerxes? Those are much cooler than John Smith.

I have seen/read quite a few folks name their child that... and its better than most of these...

anyways, my parents are not that bad... my mom is a bit... niaeve to say the least, but what is bad are my grandmother and her two sisters. They are old POlish ladies that will talk about people they are standing next to in broken Polish/Slovak. Its bad and very embarassing. They feel they can do whatever they want in public because they are a cerain age or don't realize other people see what they do and say.

Are you American or English, or at least non-Polish? If so, what would it matter that they're talking about people who can't understand them? Or is it obvious from their gestures that they are?

I am american, but what is embarassing is that anyone with half a brain would know who/what they are talking about. They are loud because they cannot hear, and do not seem to care what others are saying or looking at them.... plus, i don't think they realize what they are doing. But, they are my family, and i love them dearly.
