I've just installed Windows 2000 and installed all the latest drivers and liveware for my sblive. Now when i listen to all my mp3's in windows 2000 a get an annoying popping and crackling. I have the settings in winamp set to realtime so thats not a problem and my cpu is a 566@893 and i have 256mb ram so that should be fine. Now none of these problems occured when i was running windows millenium so I just want to know if this is a known problem or if it's just me
thanks SlaYeR

Check "mute" box in "Line In" column of volume controls.
Also disable (in bios) unused printer, com or USB ports to free up IRQ's.
If your printer is USB, you can disable parallel port.
If this doesn't solve the problem, try a different PCI slot.
WinAmp sounds better than WMP7.

Yes but winamp in 2k also changes the master WAVE volume as does sonique instead of its own volume, for it to work you have to set it to alt and it will max your wave volume and then adjust that way, and you get BLASTED when you boot up before liveware 3.0 takes effect...I hate this, can anyone fix this?

You can prevent Winamp from altering your volume settings entirely. Just go to Properties and configure the output device by unchecking the "Enable volume control" checkbox.

Yeah, I have the same problem. I thought it was just a quirk with my system though. Hmm.. I'll try some of the things suggested, cause it sucks. :(

I've got a K6-3/450, 128mb PC100..

See I want WinAmp to have individual volume control, since some of my MP3's are encoded louder than others.
