Does anyone else find stealth only complicating things in Hitman 2?

I started playing it today, and after playing for a while, I've yet to see any benefit to trying to sneak my way through missions.
I usually just go where Im supposed to go, and deal a few headshots with the silenced 9mm on the way, then I get over with whatever Im supposed to do, at which point, in most cases, the guards/soldiers/whatever get all upset and come to kill me.

Thats the point where I stand right by a corner, and shoot every head that comes around it, works like a charm no matter how many NME's there are.

Am I missing something?

If you do the scenario with just one shot for the target and no other killings or alarms you earn the "Silent Assasin" award. You get bonus weapons for doing this. Silenced HardBallers for one.

I haven't managed it yet but I'm a pretty lame gamer. I mostly play for the fun and try not to get too hardcore about it.

/me ducks and runs away from the guys with 17,000+ 3Dmarks.
