Does anyone else find coffee ineffective as a stimulant?

I'm trying to stay up a little later to finish an essay that's due on Tuesday. So I figured I'd have some coffee. It really hasn't perked me up at all.

Give me an espresso, and then I'd be flying.

Anyone else find coffee ineffective as a stimulant?

Well, it's not the coffee per se. What you need to do when making coffee is increase the amount of coffee per unit water. It'll taste like crap, but you'll get more caffeine. :D

Coffee doesn't do much, but I try to get the strongest, worst tasting crap I can find. It wakes me up with just a sip. :D

Caffiene doesn't really do anything for me anymore, but thats because I abused too many stimulants as a teenager I think.

If you are used to larger dose of caffeine as your stimulant, then you are probably desensitized. Also, the fact that you are drinking a hot liquid will tend to relax you. If I really need a jump start, I go with a Redbull, or simply a couple of cokes. Redbull provides you with a jolt of caffeine along with sugars AND the B-vitamine complex that is useful in breaking down those sugars and other carbs to produce chemical energy. So you get the stimulant and more energy. The problem is that you will come crashing down...

A seven ounce cup of coffee has about 130 mg caffeine.

A 1.5 to 2 oz demitase of espresso has about 100 mg cafeine.

It works great as a searing pain stimulant...

The caffeine does nothing for me, but the burning sensation wakes me up!

I'm pretty immune to the effects of caffeine now... I'm so addicted that I have to have buckets of coffee throughout the day just to function normally. . . LoL

But try a caffeine pill like NoDoz. I'm not kidding! For some reason that stuff has a completely different effect on me than coffee!

Coffee does not work at all on me anymore. I could literally drink a pot of coffee and go to sleep half an hour later with no problems. Well... other than the fact I'd piss all over myself while I slept :p The only think that works on me is Amp. That stuff pwns me :) Better tasting than that red bull bs too.

coffee does nothing for me. Actually, caffeine in general has no effect on my level of alertness, it just makes me pee a lot.
