...you say someones real name over AIM?

for some reason, i feel like when someone says my first name in a sentence, there is a negative connotation, like they're addressing me sternly or not putting stock into what i say.. i dont know? anyone know where im going with this?

nope, you are just plain weird :)

although, when talking one-on-one ala AIM, using a person's first name does seem unnecessary

that didnt work. it's only on AIM convos (maybe the phone, too). it's those personal communication gateways where only one person can be addressed at a time.

and i knew that was gonna happen. ;)

That's why I changed my nick to my first name, no one ever has to worry about which one to use.

Plus, I'm the only guy on AT w/ a nickname that's not his username (ok, there's a couple others) :)

Nope. On AIM I refer to my friends who I know in real life by their real names. It would feel weird to call Ashley "bubbles". She's not bubbles, she's Ashley! heh

Well Tim, I know exactly how you feel.

how'd you know my name? profile?

The nameplate on your desk. Now, don't make any sudden moves, do exactly as he says and no one will get hurt.

i just dont refer to people! if i do, obviously, it's their first name. but why refer when you dont have to? it's assumed that you're talking to the person you're talking to (as you couldnt be typing to anyone else)

No one ever uses my real name on IM, except for one person.

Even people who know me don't. "Merc" or "M4H" for most. "Stompy" for those who were in my Q3A clan, back in the day. :) WK:Stomper - WildKnights (Elite Squad)

- M4H
