Does anyone else feel bad for Tim Tebow?

I do...although I never really followed him that closely when he was in Denver. Did he ever get a *real* shot at leading that team?

I didn't like him at Florida, and didn't like the "Tebowing" thing *at all*, but now they're trying to portray him as somewhat of a victim of circumstance by booting him out of NY like they're doing...and it has me wondering...

Do you think he can thrive in the NFL? Could he possibly be any worse than Sanchez?

Looking back he kinda seems like a good kid. :\

I'm by no means a fan of his, but his performance for the Broncos seemed good enough that he deserves a chance to be a starting QB in week 1. Most of those victories came after he boxed his team into a good sized holed but somehow he did pull them off.

I guess one thought is that he did seem to alienate himself from others. The QB needs to lead the team and if you can't do that, it's going to be very hard to have a good season. Continuing to win sure helps to bond a team but one ugly loss can send a team spiraling.

Nope...he had more of a chance and made more money than he deserved.

He was never more than mediocre at best...NOT NFL starter caliber.

He is one of those role model types... Unfortunately he never had the skills to be a NFL quarterback. Has a slow release and has accuracy problems... He should have found a team that uses a fullback.

lol sanchez

Why feel bad for that guy? He's a Heisman trophy winner. He has millions of dollars. If he ever wrote a book it would sell like crazy. Etc.?

Why would I feel bad for him?

He was a mediocre NFL quarterback, so he was fired. But he's got his youth, his health, a crapload of money, and if he doesn't screw up, he can spend the rest of his life charging churches 5-figure speaking fees to talk about god and football.

Well... okay... I feel a little bad for him. I mean, on some level, he's a dude who got fired. I can sympathize with that.

But if he feels bad for himself, he's a douche.

There are QBs in every draft that have way more physical ability at the QB position than Tebow and NEVER get a real chance at being a starter.....

I don't feel bad for him. He had his chance, had success in college, made a lot of money, and will be able to do speaking/appearances for the rest of his life.

Tebow isn't a tight end. I don't think he has the catching skills and he doesn't have the size either for what teams want at TE now (TEs are 6'5 250+ or if they're smaller they've got to be relative flyers and Tebow isn't). He's not really a fullback either, he might be able to get some nice chip shots to spring a run, but he's not the clear the hole type of guy that FBs need to be. His best hope is to get on as a gadget player/h-back, where they could run some trick plays with him throwing deep, but he'd mostly be a big running back and short yard/screen/swing receiver getting 5-10 touches a game. He can still fire up his teammates doing that. Hell maybe the Ravens should consider trying him as a linebacker to fill the void of the mad stabber zealot. He might not have the stabbing down but he's into snipping dicks so maybe he can make up for it via the quantity.

He's another poster child for the "nice guy, hard worker, but lack of talent" QBs, like Cassel and Alex Smith that keep getting coaches to force them out there when it just doesn't work.

If I was an NFL coach I'd be more interested in JaMarcus Russell than Tebow.

I feel bad that the Broncos sent him to New York, when they could have sent him to the Jaguars. They set him up for a media/fan circus and complete failure. I thought the Jets organization treated him poorly.

That being said, he really needs to look at becoming a TE or FB.

I dont feel bad for him. But the media circus doesnt make sense to me. What has he done or not done that would warrant so many people to hold such strong opinions of him?

As for his time with the Jets. That is one fucked up organization from top to bottom. Anybody can be run through the ringer there. Even Brett Farve didnt stand a chance with Rex Ryan running that circus. It sounds like an awful locker room situation there. Which starts with the head coach.
