Does anyone else drown their food in sauce?

My fiance thinks it's gross, but I've always loved food with extra sauce. I always ask for extra sauce, mayo, etc. on my sandwiches, and when I eat at Quizno's I pour 4-5 cups of honey mustard sauce on a 6-inch sub. I use tons of A-1 on steaks, and eat salads with plenty of dressing...

I'm not big on drowning my food with sauce. I try to moderate it, i find the sauce often overpowers the food and i'd rather have the food.

that being said, if the food sucks.. i'll take some food with my sauce i guess ;)

Moderation is the key. The sauce is not there to be the main taste. It is supposed accentuate it, bring it out to its fullest flavor...

I don't need to drown my food in sauce. It's already dead by the time it gets to me.

The purpose of sauce is to improve or add to the taste. More sauce = better taste. :) I don't like sogginess though.

moderation. Id rather taste the food, not the sauce, otherwise you might as well just drink the sauce by itself.

the only thing i over-drown with is sour cream on either baked potatoes, perogies or potato skins. that, and tartar sauce on fish. in either case, there is very little chance you would be able to see what i'm actually eating. :)

Then you're overcooking the beef. I like mine to still be capable of a faint "moo" when I bite into it.

only on pasta like spagetti

For steaks, i usually marinade the ribeye and then cook it in the marinade.

I do. If you buy/make a right sauce, the sauce always tastes better than the food. IF you disagree, you suck at making good sauces. ;)

adding sauce takes away the real favor from the food. why don't you just eat the sauce instead of that steak?
