I open a page in Firefox and sometimes the site has those crazy ActiveX scripts that aren't fully compatible with it. So.. I go open the page in Internet Explorer (while conveniently forgetting that I have Ad-Block and Firefox>IE) and BAM! Slapped with dozens of pop-ups and malware galore.

Download IE Tab and you'll be mostly good to go. It's an extension that lets you open a tab in Firefox that uses the IE shell, so basically you don't have to leave FF to look at sites that are basically IE only.

No, because if it's that kind of site I won't really want to go there in an unprotected environment.
I only use IE for sites broken in FF if the site is a reasonably trustable site.
