I'm thinking about starting to collect these, I just picked up the Hicks figure from Movie Maniacs series 7, and not sure if I should open it or not. It's tempting, but i want to keep it closed for years.

Does anyone else collect figures? Do you open them or leave them sealed ?

I've got Ozzy, Rob Zombie, Ringo, John Lennon (1st series), Janis Joplin and Alice Cooper. The last two are sealed. The others are open on a shelf.

I used to collect McFarlane figures when they first started making them. I personally knew the sculpter for most of the first 3 series of Spawn characters (highschool buddy). At the time I was also a big fan of Spawn. So, I have many of the first 3 series of spawn figures, some in the plastic, some not. I have a couple others as well.

Once my buddy left (he went on to sculpt the new He-Man figures that came out the last couple years) and I heard the stories about Todd, I stopped buying them. Todd McFarlane is a total prick from what I understand. Very conceited, huge ego, and just generally a prick. When my buddy left, 3 or 4 other employees in the toy department left as well.

Wow! Really, that is crazy, I had no idea he was like that. Oh well, I guess with fame like that you lose perspective of certain values.

I have a collection of the Lord of the Ring figs from all 3 movies as well as most of the newer He-Man figs. I keep mine in the box for display purposes only. A friend of mine is pretty into the Marvel Legends figures but he buys 2 of each-1 to open, the other for display

I don't know if it's a McFarlane, but Spencer's Gifts has this sweet ~2' tall Pinhead (from Hellraiser) figure I'd love to have.

I have the metal gear solid series 1 collection, all of them. I've been wanting to sell them lately, they are pretty cool though, but still chilling in the boxes.

Ok, Hanson Brothers are hockey players.

But still, when I first read that, my first thought was "Mmmmm-bop!"
