Question Does anyone actually use MSI Dragon Center software?

Just got a new MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC/Ryzen 3600/Corsair V 3200 RAM and am wondering if anyone uses this? I installed it initially to sync the MB and my CM Hyper 212 RGB Black cooler (Aura Sync) as I cannot find a separate d/l for Mystic Light anywhere. After reading what crap it supposedly is I uninstalled all of it but still have the last RGB program running that I had picked (which I don't want on). I tried deleting all the registry entries but it won't let me. I was thinking of just reinstalling the software, but is it as bad as posted?

Nice choice in mb....that's what I put in my wife's computer, running a 3600X.

As far as Mystic Light and Dragon Center....hers doesn't have anything loaded. She couldn't care less if any RGB is on or not or what it looks like...her case is sans window, so can't see any of it, and she is happy about that.

On the other hand, my computer has an MSI MEG X570 ACE and I do have the Dragon Center for operating Mystic Light (Win 10)...mostly to shut off RGB stuff that irritates me.

And I guess since I've got nothing else loaded with Dragon Center, it appears to be causing no issues whatsoever for me.

On the other hand, there is a separate Mystic Light 3 download, but MSI states it's only for users of Win 7/8. Seems Win 10 requires(?) Dragon Center to make ML work? Don't have the answer to that, but if you're willing to try ML3 out and see if it works, the link to it is below:

Myself, I'm leaving Dragon Center installed as it seems to be no problem...no crashes, no lockups, etc., just runs my ML.

Good luck!

I installed Dragon Center simply for the Mystic Light module as well. I uninstalled other modules that were installed by default, turned off all RGB in Mystic Light and then disabled Mystic Light itself. Disabled the startup process at boot, and everything on the board stays off just like I wanted it to. Perfect.
However, if I uninstall Dragon Center, the RGB reverts to default which is some form of on.

EDIT: fwiw it's the X570 Gaming Pro Carbon, and yeah...there is no longer a standalone Mystic Light available from MSI's website or I would have gone that route.

Thanks for the replies. The MB (on sale) was the same price as the Tomahawk, so I figured I may as well get it instead. Hopefully it ends up supporting Zen 3 down the line.

I'm going by posts like this...there is a serious hate for Dragon Center out there:

It seems it prevents your CPU from reaching proper speeds in some cases, but maybe that's an older version. I don't mind a 'little bit' of RGB (the stuff on the board is nice...nobody ever wants to admit they like the RGB ;) ) and I do have a Fractal Meshify C Dark glass case, but I don't want something interfering with the BIOS settings.

What did you uninstall to keep the Mystic Light? I can't remember exactly what was in there, but I recall an SDK program that I assumed you need to run the whole thing? It really bugs me too to have registry entries in there after I did an entire reinstall of everything...

Essentially what I did....only installed the Control Center and Mystic Light...got rid of darned near everything. Also turned off Game Mode, which is "ON" by default. LAN manager OFF.

Interestingly, the settings for fan control/etc. I've set in the BIOS doesn't seem to be changed at all by Dragon Center. Then again, I didn't install the entire DC suite, either.
