so I figure I'll lift twice a week for 10 minutes and row 3 times a week for maybe 1 hour.

does anyone know if it is lift before you do cardio or after? You can black out if you do it in the wrong order.

trainers have preferred to do cardio after lifting, however I prefer to lift after cardio because I like getting cardio out of the way and by then my body is warmed up and ready to go... I've never heard of anyone blacking out doing it in the wrong order... one thing though is that you want ur head above the level of your heart until your heart rate comes back down.. maybe that's why somone blacked out?

I do cardio after lifting. I don't know for a fact, but it seems to me that if I do cardio first, I would be too tired to lift as much as possible. (making your lifting less effective.) I think if you lift first then do cardio, you get the most out of both types of exersise. Lifting will be kind of a cardio workout in the sense that you do get a higher heart rate and out of breath. If you do cardio after this, you're just increasing the load and cslowing the proccess closing

Just my opinion.....

That is why....you are doing the same routine.
Need to change the routine....you'll see a difference.
If you're trying to lose weight, go for some cardio stuff
and weights.
I'd also recommend supplements such as Protein shakes
and there are tons of other things. I like "Diet Lean"
Used to take Xenadrine, but that is bad stuff.

Cardio 5 times/week and weights 3+ times/week.

FFMCobalt, you probably need to either take a break off dieting for a little bit if you've been going at it hard, or simply eat less. The thinner you get the harder it is to keep losing weight and to really get thin, often a person has to jack up excercise and/or slash calories significantly, while doing their best to maintain muscle mass.

What's funny? Protein is important even for people trying to lose weight. It takes more calories to maintain muscle mass than fat, and in order to build muscle you need to be getting enough protein.

If you eat enough tuna, fine. If you don't, taking a protein supplement is not a bad idea. Just don't buy one that is loaded with sugars and carbs, and you'll be doing yourself a favor.

I don't think he was making fun of protein shakes. He was laughing at a female mentioning protein...and yeah, you can probably figure out the rest.

As for the original question: yeah, 1-2 hours of weight training four times a week for the past...hmm...five years maybe. At this point it's just become a lifestyle/obsession.
