Office is one thing MS does well. I don't use any of the freeware/open source Office suites.

I use it only because I'm too lazy to install MS office. Only need to type a paper every few weeks, so it's not in frequent use.

Does OpenOffice automatically start when you double-click on a Word/Excel file? I used to use StarOffice and it didn't do this. I had to start StarOffice first then use it's open file command/explorer to find my file - not too friendly.
And does OpenOffice save in Word/Excel format with complete compatibility?
