I'm trying to figure out how to do that 100 life trick and where all the beanstalks are?
Anybody know?

Throw a shell between two pipes, it will bounce back and forth. Keep jumping on the shell for like 110 times to get 100 life. After the 10 times, it will +1 +1 after each additional time.

Ahh the lost art of turtle tapping...
World 3-1 end of the level... stomp a turtle on the steps once and then set mario so that he bounces off the turtle until you get mad 1-ups

BTW, if you get more than 100 lives if you die you get a game over, IIRC.

The one time I did that I did it so much it went beyond numbers and into shapes, I ended with a cloud as my lives and the next time I died it was game over :(

Unlimited 1-Ups
Get to world 3-1, and become Super Mario. At the end of the level(the staircase before the end flag) you will see two turtles coming down the stairs, jump over the first one and then jump on the second one. It should hit the star and bounce back, from here jump on it and keep yourself up, after a certain number of bounces without hitting the ground, each consecutive bounce will get you a 1-up. Get as many as you want but be warned, if you get over 100 you will get a Game Over.

Isn't it like 255 lives? I remember being so psyched figuring that trick out as a kid, but I never understood until recently why Mario would die if you got too many 1-ups. :p
