I bought an album filled with gospel music. Some songs on there that I like.

Others I find are a bit too much classified as what I consider (putting on asbestos garments) "charismatic fundamentalist" music. (If you don't know what a charismatic fundamentalist catholic is, think Kirk Cameron).

I'm just more of a liberal catholic.

I think Casting Crows was the other band that came with mercy me and Michael W Smith. Are they the more Grunge looking bad with the skinny lead singer with the afro?

I enjoy a wide variety of music, and I've enjoyed some Christian artists/groups in the past, such as DC Talk, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Jars of Clay, and others. I've also enjoyed artists/groups that don't claim to be "Christian" music, but are obviously very spiritual, such as Arrested Development and Kansas.

Music is music to me, and I don't limit myself to any "genres" in particular. To do so would mean I would miss out on a lot of good stuff. I keep an open mind.

I just like it to be unique, original, well played, and well sung (well, it's not always well sung); in other words, I just like GOOD MUSIC. I have lots of different types of CDs, and even more MP3 tracks that I "sample" before I buy stuff. I have Rock and Roll from all decades, other stuff even older than that, Folk, Country, Gangster Rap, more positive and/or fun forms of Rap, Techno (I don't know what constitutes house, trance, whatever, so I'll just call all the electronic stuff "techno" for the purpose of this discussion; I'm not interested in semantics, so don't bother trying to explain it to me :) ), Heavy Metal, Death Metal, Punk, Blues, Jazz, Classical, whatever I hear that catches my ear!

What about the Who?

"Who Are You?" - Don't you think they are obviously refering to Christ? Asking, "Are You who You say You are?"

My wife loves Newsboys and Sonic Flood.

Me? I can't stand most christian music, except possibly Stryper. ;)

Christian music sucks. No offense.

Hmm you are very narrow minded....

I like Pillar and P.O.D. I don't hold their religious beliefs against them.

I am an agnostic.

Someone doesn't like what you like, therefore they are narrowminded....
Ironic.

What would you consider it?

chevelle is 'christian' rock?

i remember hearing an interview of POD where they said the whole christian rock thing is being taken advantage of by the corporations just to make sales so they wanted to get away from that. he sounded upset when he said it too.

Switchfoot is christian? You learn something new everyday. I pretty much can't stand christian music, the lyrics, to me, always feel to bland and rehashed. Its nothing I haven't heard in one of a million hymns I was forced to sing in church as a child.

As far as songs with seemingly christian messages from non-christian bands, I like Guster- All the Way Up to Heaven and most of what Zwan did while they were around.

Yah I like switchfoot in moderation. But other than that it all sounds a little overly righteous to me.
