my win 2000 pro computer now shuts down when I choose restart. Have to think its a setting in BIOS or power management but cant find it.

Not a huge problem but dont like shutting down on any reboot.

Posted this in other forums here but got no answers.

Any help appreciated.

Your computer probably just doesn't like you. Take a belt or switch to it to let it know who is the boss. Works for me every time. 😛

I FREAKIN did Google and looked numerous other places also before posting here. I got that page too. No help so far there either.

And you've tried every other link that came up on google?

Because if you have, and you just put up a post without telling us what you HAVE tried, it's just going to take longer to figure it out.

Look through the rest of the fixes on the google search and if none of them work then we probably know as much as you about it.

SP4 and all available upgrades installed and compared BIOS settings to a functioning identical system so they are not the problem. Almost has to be W2K but dont want to reinstall that at this time. May just upgrade to XP soon.

If I just knew when this started for sure it would help. I know it used to work. Did install a new HD recently by cloning old one but dont know if that could have caused it. All else seems to be working fine.

Its not a big deal but anything that doesnt work right bugs me and to try a lot of Oclock settings is just not practical.

Thanks to all that tried to help.
