does anybody know if there is a way to write in japanese in xp?

a japanese friend of mine wants to know if you can write in japanese somehow...i know you can read it fairly easily....just wondering if there is a way to also write in it???? thanks alot....
 
Yes.

You need to install Far East Asian Languages support under Regional Options. Install that, and then make sure that Japanese is checked in the list box. FEAL also installs Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and Korean.

Then on the Input Locales tab, Add Japanese and map it to the US/International Keyboard. You can then enter Japanese by switching IMEs via the blue EN icon in the system tray.
